SO Sofitel Singapore is an elegant neoclassical building nestled amongst skyscrapers in the heart of the city’s Central Business District. Divided into two wings, Heritage and Hip, the hotel juxtaposes French-style old-world glamour and local avant-garde sensuality.
In one of the latest chapters in Epson’s adventures in Augmented Reality (AR), Epson Moverio BT-300 smart glasses enable a unique and stunning user experience at SO Sofitel Singapore – delivered via the SO Augmented application.
Combining EON Reality software and Moverio Si-OLED display technology, the SO Augmented experience takes hotel guests on a learning journey – deep into the story behind the interior design, set against the narrative of SO Sofitel Singapore.
Guests begin their journey in front of the hotel’s Lion’s Seal emblem, designed by Karl Lagerfeld, further exploring the lobby and on into the So Lofty suite.
Wearing the Epson Moverio BT-300 smart glasses, visitors view layers of augmented graphical information and audio narration – revealing the inspiration and unique insights behind the design of SO Sofitel Singapore.
Guests are then greeted by Isabelle Miaja, the interior designer of SO Sofitel Singapore. Here, Augmented Reality portrays a unique and powerful emotional benefit – making each guest feel that Isabelle is talking to them one-to-one, rather than as a group. Guests go on to enjoy a part-real, part-virtual world of informative content and videos blending seamlessly with the hotel environment.
